• The Chamber was instrumental in negotiating with the Metro to supply electricity and infrastructure to the newly established filling stations alongside Kingsway Road, Springs/Benoni, Gauteng.
  • As a result of the development of the informal settlements at Kingsway/Lindelani, the Chamber initiated discussions between Provincial Government to consider installing lights along the highway as well as a traffic light at the intersection.
  • During 1994 there was a taxi feud between Springs Taxi Association and the Long Distance Taxi Association.  This resulted in violence between the two taxi Associations.  The Chamber was requested by the then Management of the Springs Municipality to assist in resolving the matter.  Involvement of the Chamber eventually lead to the signing of a peace agreement between the Associations.  To date, it is still in place.
  • CHRISTMAS STREET MARKET
    The Chamber organised, together with the Municipality an annual Christmas Street Market which stimulated the local economy.  This market was held for a period of 5 days over Christmas.  The Street Market ran for a period of 8 consecutive years.
  • SPRINGS TRADE FARE
    During 2003 the Chamber initiated and organised, together with the industrial and commercial sectors, 4 very successful Trade Fares.  The Trade Fares were held at the Springs Civic Centre.
