Motor vehicle licenses
The Chamber wishes to bring to the attention of members that no licence renewal notices will be sent by the Dept. of Transport as was the case before. The reason for this, is that the Dept. of Transport is currently transferring the Electronic National Traffic Information System (eNaTIS) to the Road Traffic Management Centre.
This has brought about some chaos thus resulting in long queues at the motor vehicle licensing offices. A further new requirement causing additional chaos is that motor vehicle owners now also have to provide proof of residential and postal address in order to renew the licence discs. On the 2 November 2015 the Dept. of Transport introduced a new policy/rule as part of Regulation 32A of the National Road Traffic Regulations that now requires vehicle owners to provide proof of residence when applying to renew their vehicle licence.
